Fiction on the Blog?

Most of all, I like writing stories. However, I’m not sure if people would want to read fiction on a blog. So I would like to ask you: Would you want to read fiction here on the blog? However, if I do write fiction, it will be only 1,000 to 2,000 words long. Answer in the comments.

It’s hard to say how successful it would be. I know I read fiction posted on blogs, but I’m not sure if I’m an outlier or not.

Whatever you put out you should probably make sure it wouldn’t be more suited to another form like a newsletter perk, a magazine, or even a collection or something. It should be a story that wouldn’t fit anywhere else.

I would, but then, I would certainly forget at times. JD speaks wise, it needs a newsletter option to make subscribers aware of fresh posts.

Quite right. I should probably do it as newsletters of some kind.

I’d be interested. I find a newsletter alert a helpful reminder when you post something.

Take a look at Ben Cheah’s serialized fiction on his website. He eventually kick started his Babylonn blue series.

Personally I’d read new serialized Shining tomorrow stories for starters

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Xavier! I’ll have an announcement regarding the Raygun Romance on Friday, so make sure to be there. Over the past year and some change, I’ve focused the majority of my energy on this story.

And I’ll be sure to let everyone know once it’s available. The only problem is that Vella will only be available to US readers at first. If you have Twitter, contact me at @Parvenu62 and we can work something out.

Thanks. I don’t have Twitter. No worries about Vella. One idea: an email sign up for non U.S. readers until Vella opens up.
