Shining Tomorrow’s Musical Identity

After friend of the blog JD Cowan lamented the lack of a theme song in his recent review of my novel Shining Tomorrow, I’ve decided to explain what kind of music I would want audiovisual adaptations of my novel to have.

Mostly, I would like it to have a techno-style soundtrack similar to the SNES Mega Man X games, covering most incidental themes in the production itself. Its opening and closing songs, however, would be much different.

Opening: Together As One (from ROCKMAN HOLIC) A song similar to this would make an excellent opening theme.

Shoujo Crimson’s theme: Ace Attacker ver. W (from Super Robot Wars) When Irma becomes Shoujo Crimson for the first time and calls down the Grand Valkyur, a song like this one would be perfect.

Shadow Heart Strikes! Boss Battle Theme (from Megaman X: Maverick’s Fury) This kind of driving techno beat would fit the Shadow Heart organization well.

Everything’s All Right (Denouement): Mega Man X2 Credits Theme. Slowed down a bit and made more emotional, this would be great for the closing scenes.

Ending Theme: Akatsuki no Senshi (from Sakura Wars) This links to a male-voiced cover, not the original female-voiced song. Something with this tone, but about Shoujo Crimson instead of Shounen Red, would be great to close out an episode or a film. Perhaps a male voice would fit better too.

It’s very interesting that books or scenes stimulate a soundtrack.
I’ll listen to your musical selection to get a feel for whatvtobexpectvwhen I read your book
I’m still pondering what music to use for my Deus vult story (and the mecha one)
Here are some for the Deus vult
Opening theme: the theme song to Omerta 2 (an awesome Quebec mini series of cops and organized crime)
I haven’t picked music for the aerial fight against the dragons, necromancers and the knights that rescued some prisoners.

The protagonists’ fight against the infernal cybernetic vampire dogs Limp Bizkit’s opening song for Mission impossible 2.

The marriage scene will have both In Living color’s Love rears its ugly head and a religious one.

To be honest I haven’t thought about music but I really should it’ll definitely set the mood and help me narrate the story better.

    Thanks for the recommendations.

I’m enjoying the music selections. Although subjective how these musical pieces inspire you for the novel?

It’s just music that I would play to help me think of scenes, or it’s just the type of music I would want in an adaptation if one was ever made.

Thanks. It makes great sense. I noticed something similar about s pecific pieces of music I listen to.

Interesting how the muses inspire us.
