Shining Tomorrow Volume 1 Is Officially Released!

At long last, it’s finally here, in both e-book and paperback formats. Shining Tomorrow Volume 1: Shadow Heart is on sale.

FROM YOUNG ELEGANT LADY…TO MASKED FURY!

Irma wishes to be the perfect girl: chaste, feminine, and generous. But when a giant monster stomps through her hometown, her plans crumbled right along with the stores and apartments.

In the chaos of acrid smoke and panicked civilians, the private military company Shadow Heart snatched her friend out of the crowd and took her captive.

Now Irma must pilot the Grand Valkyur, a mechanical titan of steel more powerful than any weapon made by human hands. With a brilliant sword that could cut any matter and gleaming armor that could withstand any weapon, the Valkyur challenges all who dare to fight it.

But piloting the Valkyur means using violence — and to Irma, violence is men’s work. How can she rescue her friend without betraying the feminine elegance she prides herself on?

I first drafted this novel in October of 2018 after getting stuck on another book I was trying to write. However, the idea did not come that fast; I had spent years refining the idea, especially the worldbuilding (for example, Irma was originally conceived of as a supervillain with a huge battleship lair, foursquare opposite from the compassionate figure she is in this current book.) I strove to write a superheroic story that did not take place in an alternate history, since that is fairly rare.

Also, without intending to, I upended many stereotypical tropes of the dystopian Young Adult genre.

With all that said, I hope you enjoy the book. Leave a review once you’re done — they help out tremendously.
